Summary of questions and answers about patches in ecu.test.
If you receive a patch from tracetronic, you will need to get it activated in the applicable ecu.test version.
A patch file name would have the following format:
[TIME STAMP]_Patches_[TICKET NUMBER]_[TICKET DESCRIPTION]_[ecu.test VERSION].ttp
Navigate to the installation directory of the applicable ecu.test installation
Create a new directory and name it Patches if it is not already existing in this location
Paste the patch file inside the "Patches" directory
Restart your ecu.test to load up the new patch
If you received a patch for TestManagementService the file name would have the following format:
TestManagementService-[VERSION].jar
Navigate to the installation directory of the applicable ecu.test installation
Navigate to the directory TestManagementService
Paste the patch file inside the directory (if necessary replace the existing one)
Restart your ecu.test to load up the new patch
Navigate to the installation directory of the applicable ecu.test installation
Navigate to the directory Patches
Remove the respective patch file inside the Patches directory
Restart your ecu.test to unload the removed patch
There are different possibilities to check if your ecu.test is currently patched:
First, you can check your ecu.test installation directory for the directory Patches
Inside your open ecu.test Window you can have a look at the top left corner
A + sign would show up next to the version to indicate that this installation is patched with a final patch.
A ~ sign would show up next to the version to indicate that this installation is patched with a test patch.
A ! sign would show up next to the version to indicate that this installation of ecu.test has Patches
that could not be loaded, either because they are incompatible with this ecu.test version or because of a
conflict between existing Patches that prevents them from being loaded. Contact our support again.
The info dialog (Help > Info) shows a patched ecu.test as well
When you hover over the phrase (patched) a tooltip will display all of the active patches
Â
It depends on the patches you are using. The log files contain more information about the currently installed patches.
Therefore it's always recommended to contact the ecu.test support team and send them the log files for analysis, to answer this question.
