Issue

While trying to connect to my ALM Octane I receive the following error:

Error connecting to "Micro Focus ALM Octane"!
javax.ws.rs.ProcessingException: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: 
sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

The referenced test management system can vary between the supported test management systems of ecu.test.

Solution

First, check the Used certificate keystore setting. In most environments it should be set to Windows Root Keystore.

In addition it must be ensured that the certificates are trusted, otherwise the connection will be rejected.

You can check your certificate in your browser by opening the website of the test management system.

If your browser displays a message saying your certificate is not trusted or invalid, please contact your IT department.
