Solution

If some other software has already opened and configured the CAN interface,

 ecu.test will use these settings.

Otherwise,

 ecu.test has to configure the interface itself.

For that purpose, settings can oftentimes be copied from other tools (see below).

Make sure the bit rate

in ecu.test is entered in bit/s.
